The Texas Gulf Institute (TGI) applied for a Certificate of Authority to offer Bachelor of Science degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies in Education, Computer Science, and Business Administration to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) on January 20, 2009, after deciding to expand their academic offerings to include undergraduate programmes.
